The man behind Aasharya is Mr. Rajeev Gaonkar, who formerly had a business of his own in Bangalore, decided to serve the needy by shifting his base to his home town permanently in Hiregutti Village in Uttar Kannada Dist. Karnataka, he was also associated with an voluntary organization “Helping Hand” in Bangalore for last 14 years in serving the needy.

“I wish to take your few minutes to share vision in creating a difference in the lives of underprivileged children, especially in my home town Uttar Kannada District. Most neglected group in our town are these children with no infrastructure, education, intervention and rehabilitators, even parents of such children are diffident and frustrated or too poor to nurse any hope of a better future. So I feel it’s an responsibility on all of us to reach out to the needy in the best possible way that we could. It’s not only to help them but also to give some meaning to our life.”
